Who runs OceansWatch?
OceansWatch is registered as a Charitable organisation, established in New Zealand in 2007. It is run by Volunteer sailors, marine biologists and specialists lead our projects. We led expeditions to the Pacific from 2008 until 2019. Covid made it difficult and we now support communities and people we know when we receive a request.
Where do you work?
We focus on Pacific island nations that have a strong need like the Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and Papua New Guinea.
How do you protect marine areas?
By establishing marine protected areas and training local reef guardians to manage resources sustainably.
