OceansWatch is supporting schools in developed countries to partner with coastal schools in developing countries. The partnering programme has already started with a school in Northland, New Zealand and schools in Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea.
Another school from North California have joined our twinning project this year. White Oak A+ Elementary school is a coastal school and the kids are looking forward to corresponding with children in other coastal communities, explains Suzan Wallace, their teacher.
In White Oak, three classrooms are participating in this partnership: one of 2nd Grade, one of 3rd Grade and one of 4th Grade. Children, like Tyler (pictured above), have written letters and made drawings for their new friends in the South Pacific. They are really excited to learn about OceansWatch projects and about children in a land so far from them.
Magic Roundabout, OW lead boat, will deliver all the kind letters and drawings to the Vanuatu and PNG partner schools. The children have made great efforts and are really looking forward to getting mail from their news friends.
OceansWatch would like to thank everyone for their wonderful drawings and letters.
